Check out some great American Heineken Ads

Heineken is one of the biggest beer companies in the world and is served in over 192 countries, one of those countries in the US and we have rounded up some great American Heineken Ads for you to enjoy.

I have a special love for commercials, at least when you get to choose which ones and when to watch. One fun part about commercials is that it’s not that common that the same commercial is aired all over the world. So if you see an ad for a brand in your country it is very likely that the ad is only shown in your country or region. But thanks to Youtube you can search out ads for your favorite brand and see how it is marketed in other countries. We have done that before here a few times like in this collection of Coca-Cola commercials from all over the world.

Now the time has come to check out some great American Heineken Ads, I just stumbled upon a new set of Heineken commercials with actor Benicio Del Toro and then kept browsing and found some more great ones that I had never seen before. So chances are you haven’t either, watch and enjoy.

This is the second of the two Benicio Del Toro ads where he meets a Heineken brewmaster and discusses the beer.

This ad is from a music project Heineken did where they have turned the sound from a New York Subway into music.

This is one of a few very funny commercials with Neil Patrick Harris where he promotes Heineken Light.

Another one with Neil Patrick Harris, this is a follow up to the series from above and made with a great sense of humour.

A cool one where Heineken gave some great free concerts.

This one is another great one where Heineken treats some American fans to a Barcelona Champions League game, not bad at all.

Carlsberg Chocolate Bar is the best thing ever

Carlsberg Chocolate Bar is the best thing ever

Check out the Carlsberg Chocolate Bar, a bar made entirely out of chocolate.

You have to love Carlsberg for creating the Carlsberg Chocolate Bar, a pop-up bar made out of almost half a tonne of edible chocolate. In the bar you could enjoy a half pint of ice cold Carlsberg served in a milk chocolate glass of course.

And the interior gives you most of the things you expect in a classic British bar, a handcrafted chocolate dartboard, chocolate bar stools, chocolate tv where football is shown, well at least one frame of football.

Carlsberg Chocolate Bar is the best thing ever
The bar was affixed to the wall of the Truman Brewery in Shoreditch, London. The bar was five meters wide and two meters wide. The bar took three months to complete by chocolate sculptor and food artist Prudence Staite who is previously known for creating a life size replica of Winston Churchill out of bread, not a bad thing to be known for.

Carlsberg Chocolate Bar is the best thing ever

Dharmesh Rana, Senior Brand Manager at Carlsberg UK, said: “Easter is a big beer-drinking occasion for our consumers and this year, we wanted to do something a bit different. We knew that the British public love beer and chocolate, so we’re delighted to bring them together to create probably the best bar there could be.

“We pride ourselves on turning the ordinary into the extraordinary, and by creating a world-first chocolate bar, we feel that we’ve done just that.”

Gender Baby Food Feeds Your Children Stereotypes

See this ad campaign for Gender baby food that lets you feed your children stereotypes. This is a campaign for Anxiety and Depression Association of America and you need to see this.

Gender Baby Food have made a series of baby foods that allow you to feed your children with stereotypes. The campaign which consists of a huge series of baby foods with names that will make you think a little bit extra on how you raise your child and the younger ones around you.

Gender Baby Food Feeds Your Children Stereotypes

The names of the different canes of Gender Baby Food is provocative in just the right way, just listen to a few of these names;

  • Musclehead Mango: Do you even lift, bro?
  • Breadwinner Pudding: Don’t raise a Stay-at-Home dad
  • Rough and Tough Rhubarb: Real Boys Fight Back
  • Perverted Peas: It’s in his nature
  • Anti-Gay Grapes: Let a Boy Become a Man

Gender Baby Food Feeds Your Children Stereotypes

Now you wouldn’t want to feed your child with any of these would you? The campaign is made for the Anxiety and Depression Association of America. I like the idea for this and how it is done but I’m sure this raises some tough questions in all of us no matter if you like the campaign or not. I’m not really sure how I feel about it myself which I assume is one of the points with it.

Below you can read the full statement that comes with the campaign, quoted from the Gender Baby Food website. For more info about the Anxiety and Depression Association of America please go here.

Gender Baby Food Feeds Your Children Stereotypes

About the campaign (quoted from genderbabyfood.com)

Research has found that forcing kids to adhere to what society considers “masculine” and “feminine” can be detrimental to their physical and mental health. In fact, the constant pressure to keep their everyday life in line with society’s gender norms produces significant anxiety, insecurity, stress, and low self-esteem for both boys and girls. But gender isn’t natural or biological.

Gender is constructed by us.

Gender Baby Food Feeds Your Children Stereotypes

As parents and role models, our babies emulate our attitudes, mentalities, and behaviors from the day they’re born. It is through the nuances of our prejudice and expectations that they learn about gender and how they should behave. By over-correcting their “un-genderly” demeanors, failing to address gender biases, or simply continuing to believe in the gender formula that society has rigidly created for us, we are perpetually feeding our kids fixed stereotypical notions that cause largely unacknowledged health risks.

By questioning all generalizations, tuning in to our own biases, and reinforcing behaviors that shatter gender stereotypes, we can start creating a world where boys can comfortably play with makeup without worrying about making their daddies mad, and where girls can be as aggressive, compelling, and bossy as they want to be without it reflecting a negative image on their “femininity”.

Gender Baby Food Feeds Your Children Stereotypes

Change starts with us elevating our mindset. Change starts with you.

Stop feeding gender stereotypes to your kids.

Start feeding openness and discussion, and let your kids shape their own attitudes about what it means to be a man or a woman.

The Anxiety and Depression Association of America works to prevent, treat, and cure anxiety disorders and depression in children.

Donate now to support those affected by gender norms.

Cookie Monster Apple Ad is hilarious, watch it

Watch this Cookie Monster Apple Ad, it’s one of the best I’ve ever seen for Apple.

This is the Cookie Monster Apple Ad and it is one of the best Apple ads I’ve seen. Normally ads for Apple products are a bit more serious than this one. So I’m not the biggest fan of Apple ads, that is why it was so fun to find this great ad where the Cookie Monster is baking cookies (obviously) and is using Siri hands free to check the time.

If you’re not that familiar with the Cookie Monster (shame on you) you can check out a classic clip below. And for more great food ads check out our full coverage here.

Patrick Swayze Pabst Blue Ribbon ad from 1979

Just found this Patrick Swayze Pabst Blue Ribbon ad from 1979 and it made my day. See it to have your day made as well.

I just discovered this great Patrick Swayze Pabst Blue Ribbon ad from 1979, the video was re-released by Pabst Blue Ribbon after being discovered in the archives. The video was remastered to meet today’s standards.

In the ad we see actor Patrick Swayze getting ready for a night out and ending up at a disco and doing some great synchronized dancing. Patrick Swayze later had his big breakthrough when dancing in the 1987 film Dirty Dancing.

But for me he will always be Bodie from the film Point Break. One of the best action movies ever. For no apparent reason there was a remake of Point Break released last year, don’t let that one spoil the memory of the original one. Sadly Patrick Swayze passed away in 2009 due to pancreatic cancer.

New Snickers Ads Imagines Snickers as other Snackbars

In these new Snickers ads the Snicker bar gets imagined as other snackbars, a clever way to keep using the “You are not you when you’re hungry” campaigns.

These new Snickers ads imagines Snicker bars as other snackbars. The print campaign is made by BBDO and the idea is simple. Take some other classic bars and just replace the original name with Snickers and the line You are not you when you’re hungry. Done.

It’s hard not to like simple and clever ideas like this and I think it works great with Snickers usually fun ads and commercials.

Snickers have made another print campaign a few years ago when they deliberately misspelled Snickers and made some fun misspelled famous quotes, check out some of those below.

Handmade food Typography for Fazer by Snask Agency

Snask Agency have created some beautiful handmade food typography for the Finnish food company Fazer, it looks amazing so check it out.

Handmade food typography is always fun, especially when it is done is a really great way. I’m even working on my own handmade food typography project here at Ateriet that you can check out here. But Snask Agency took things to a different level with their poster that they made for the Finnish food company Fazer.

Handmade food Typography for Fazer by Snask Agency

The pitch was simple “Make drop dead gorgeous handmade typography”. So they did. The campaign was set to push Fazer’s most popular candies and was made in Finnish but in the photos here you can see it in both Finnish and Swedish. The message is “Alla tiders sötaste sommar” in Swedish and “Kaikkien aikojen makein kesä” in Finnish which roughly translates to “The sweetest summer ever”.

The Target Campaign

Now there is good reason for Hasan & Partners to hire Snask for this very specific task of creating handmade typography because they made some similar really cool stuff like this before. This year they are making a similar campaign for the American chain Target aimed at the Hispanic US population. You can check out some of the works from that campaign below.

The Washington Post Cover

But that is not all either, last year Snask made another handmade typography project for the Washington Post favorites issue. Here the word Favorites was made using one handmade font for each letter. The cover got some well deserved attention from typography fans all over the world. I added some of my personal favorites from that cover as well.

Are You My Grandma? See these Grandma’s Cookie Ads

Are you my Grandma? That’s the question that is the question in these weird and funny ads for Grandma’s Cookies, see them here.

Now I’ve seen some weird ads in my days and these ones are right there in the top. Luckily they are all pretty funny as well. The theme for the ads are all more or less the same. A person asks a cookie-eating person if they are their Grandma with the obvious question Are you my Grandma?

Naturally the answer is no, it’s kind of clear that none of the persons being asked in these commercials are the Grandma to whoever is asking. The fun part comes when the person being asked eventually gives up and accepts to be their Grandma, at least for a short while.

Each spot ends with the tagline “Grandma’s Cookies, Just like Grandma’s”.

My personal favorite is the one on top where the man eating lunch on a bench gives in to the little girl and starts to knit. Another highlight is the end on the first one below where an office worker walks in on a pair where one are singing her “grandsons” favorite lullaby.

Live Fish Pack – Might not be the greatest idea

Live Fish Pack – Might not be the greatest idea

Live fish pack is a prank where consumers are being tricked into believing there is an live fish pack, you know a fish alive inside a box. Maybe not the greatest idea for how to sell fish, or am I wrong?

Live fish pack. That was the idea for this Polish fish company Mila. They rigged a few of their boxes of frozen fish with some electronics to make it move and behave like a fish when consumers were about to pick up a pack of fish. The prank was carried out with the three of the types of fish marketed by Mila, tilapia, mackerel and dorada. There was also a website set up where people could go in and watch when people passed by and the people watching could activate the “live” fish.

Now this all sounds like a fun prank but if I myself were in charge of marketing at Mila I would never sign off on a idea like this. In my experience people don’t want to be reminded where stuff comes from, they just want to eat or use it. I’m guessing that Mila will get a lot of attention for this idea. But will it increase sales?

Picture this, the next time you go in for a piece of pancetta the sound of a screaming pig will sound as soon as you pick up the package. Will this make you plan dinner or put back the pancetta? I would make other dinner plans. I’m not judging, I think you should know where stuff comes from and I always believed that if you’re gonna eat meat or fish you should be prepared to kill it yourself. Great for a moral compass but when it comes to selling products I don’t think that it’s such a great idea.

Now I don’t think I’m the only one with this opinion, as a great example you can watch this ad below where PETA in Asia made a commercial where consumers gets a surprise when opening up a leather bag. Their message is for people to remember where leather comes from, now that far from an box of fish that’s moving around is it?

Snickers Ice Cream Scream Ad

Watch Snickers ice cream scream ad, it takes the saying scream for ice cream very literal.

This new Snickers ice cream scream ad takes the saying “I scream, you scream we all scream for ice cream” very literal. The idea is as simple as it is clever and the ad is done in the same way. It simply features a line of people, paintings and even a tattoo which is screaming for Snickers ice cream bar.

I love fun ideas like this one, why complicate things, short and sweet works great if you have an idea that works and this does.

Johnsonville Sausage Commercials by Droga5 & The Staff

Johnsonville Sausage Commercials are made by the staff at Johnsonville, because they let the staff do everything, watch these fun ads now.

I written about Johnsonville Sausage commercials by Droga5 before, I’m not adding a link since the commercials have now been removed from Youtube for reasons I know nothing about.

But Droga5 keep making fun stuff together with Johnsonville and we will keep writing about them. In these new commercials Johnsonville have had their workers come up with the ideas for the commercials.

There are two commercials in this series, the first one which is on top features a regular speed motor chase where some of the employees have forgotten to remove all the sausages from the grill of the truck they are driving.

This is the second one called Jeff and his forest friends. In the commercial Johnsonville worker Jeff is enjoying his breakfast in the forest when random animals walk up to him and ask stuff about the sausages. It ends with a wolf wanting to know how he learned how to talk to animals. I love how the animals are not CGI but sort of tacky made.

Below are some behind the scenes videos from the making of these commercials. Enjoy.

Juice Without Fuss - Squeeze the fruit with Philips Juicer

Juice Without Fuss is the tagline for these cool print ads for Philips Juicer, wouldn’t you want to squeeze a pineapple like this?

Juice without fuss, that is the tagline for these two ads made for Philips and their juicer. One is of a pineapple getting squeezed by only the force or a hand and the other is the same idea but then a giant pear gets its juiced squeezed out.

Both images is of course made using computers but I like the idea and the images does look kind of cool. But if I had to choose I would have had them made a bit more realistic. It looks too much like a sponge from a bathroom to make me want to squeeze juice if you know what I mean.

Still great work by Silvio Medeiros who have made the design.
