These Wine Ads Wants You To Bring Good Wine Next Time

These clever wine ads are made for the wine brand McGuigan Wines and the idea is as good as it is simple. Let’s take a closer look at this set of fun wine ads.

You should always to bring decent wine when you’ve been invited to a nice dinner with friends. That simple idea is behind this set of ads made for McGuigan Wines.

Just a quick and you instantly get the idea. On each one of the ads, there is a person who just took a sip of a not very decent wine. You don’t want to be the person responsible for bringing that bottle of wine, do you?

Well, the solution is simple, spend more on wine or if McGuigan wines get this campaign right get one of their bottles.

I really like this campaign, marketing wines with print ads are not easy. You can’t print flavor and have a good photo of a bottle and in the vineyard is what every wine marketer is doing. Well at least most of them.

Check Out 20 Knife Ads With A Creative Edge

Knife Ads is usually about making your knife looking much sharper than anyone else’s. In these 20 Knife Ads with a creative edge, you’ll get just that. Super creative knife ads worth taking a long look at.

It’s not easy making knife ads. I mean what can you do besides showing how good the knife looks, what it costs and how good it is? Some even bring in some famous chef so they can tell you how sharp it is.

There are better or at least more clever ways of doing things. Let’s see some creative knife ads instead. It’s 20 Knife Ads with a Creative Edge. And yes, once I came up with that headline I had to use it. Wouldn’t you have?

A knife holder made out of wood is not enough to keep these knives in place.

Here come three ads all made in the same style. I like how they didn’t make it look like the whole chopping board and ingredients being chopped up but instead showed the ad itself being chopped up. Great work and a fun detail.

Long lasting sharpness. As you can see in the ad there isn’t even a knife in it. Clever and a good looking ad.

McDonald’s Cool Paint Swatch Ads for Quebec’s Moving Day

McDonald’s Create Cool Paint Swatch Ads for Quebec's Moving Day

McDonald’s has once again made some creative ads. For the early Moving Day in Quebec, they made these cool paint swatch ads. Check them out.

I do think this is the first time I feature paint swatch ads that are related to food here at Ateriet. I’ve shown and seen plenty of other creative paint swatch ideas before. Usually, those involve the single paint swatches from Pantone. See an example where McDonald’s did that before here.

What I like here is that McDonald’s put a twist on the paint swatch idea by using the longer versions with a few different tones on them. The Pantone idea have been used for far too long by now. The reason is not weird but still.

The paint swatch ads in this campaign are made for Moving Day in Quebec, Canada. Personally I never even heard of Moving Day before, maybe that’s because I never been to Quebec either. But if I get it right Moving Day happens every year on the 1st of July. The tradition goes back to the bad old days when rent leases were canceled or renewed. To learn more about what it is there is a good Wiki article on it here.

The Paint Swatch Ads

Now for the actual ads. It’s not very complicated, by using a few different paint swatches and arranged them to look like stuff from McDonald’s the idea is more or less done. The ads come in three different versions. One burger, one Egg McMuffin and of course fries.  See them in full below.

This is not the first time McDonald’s have made creative advertising. Here is a full collection of highly creative ads from the burger giant. For all McDonald’s coverage head over here.

As a final tip, you should of course also see my full food ad coverage here, there are plenty of great food ads to discover.

Creative Guinness Beer Ads – Get some ad inspiration

Creative Guinness Beer Ads

Iconic products like Guinness Beer has a huge advantage over their competition. Guinness Beer is known to be black with a creamy froth on top. Check out how they have used this in some very clever ways in these creative Guinness Beer Ads, let’s get some design inspiration.

Guinness beer is known for two things, they release their iconic Guinness book of records each year and they are the undisputed kings of the really really dark beer. As for the book, it was my favorite one growing up. I think we have all been amazed to see the longest nails in the world and the tallest man on earth among all the other crazy records that you can set records in.

The other thing is the actual beer that is one of the most sold in the world, especially in their category of beer. Besides being successful in both selling beer and books they have also made their dark beer with the creamy top in its special glass into an icon. And there are loads of cool ads that have used the shape and colors of the bottle in a creative way.

I’ve rounded up some of the coolest and most creative Guinness Ads I could find. For more great ads check out my full coverage here.

MaraNatha – A Nut Butter That Is Too Good For Jelly

MaraNatha - A Nut Butter That Is Too Good For Jelly

Watch all the hilarious but heartbreaking ads from MaraNatha NutButter, they came up with some almond butter that is too good for jelly, watch them now.

Peanut butter and jelly go together like.. well peanut butter and jelly. But what if you have a butter that is so good it doesn’t need jelly. A nut butter that is too good for jelly?

That’s the basic idea behind the new set of short films from MaraNatha NutButter. Instead of pairing them with the traditional jelly on a sandwich they are taking things in a different direction. Away from the jelly.

But where does that leave jelly? Heartbroken according to these great ads. Luckily for me, I never really been a big fan of peanut butter and jelly, maybe since I’m not American. In Sweden peanut butter and jelly aren’t very common and if it was it would be considered dessert and not something you would want kids to eat as a snack. But that’s a completely different discussion. Now let’s watch these great clips.

As you all know there are several stages of a breakup, let’s start with this extended stage. Life is not easy when you’re jelly.
Tears and sadness, all alone.
Time to destroy all those memories that used to be good ones.
Why not leave a message, with anger and all.
As a last desperate act, late night texting.
Last one.

Nobody Wants a KellyBaked Ham, says Honeybaked Ham

$
0
0

Honeybaked Ham has come out with a new ad where we are told that nobody wants a KellyBaked Ham, I think they are right about that.

KellyBaked Ham? What is that? According to this new ad from Honeybaked Ham, it is a ham made by Kelly, the star of this new ad.

Instead of going the lazy way and getting a pre-made ham from, shall we say Honeybaked Ham? She decides to make her own ham from scratch. Turns out that it’s not as easy as you might think.

Especially when there are a million other things to get done and you’ve got a dog sneaking around and getting ready to eat some ham. That’s also the only one in this ad who seems to want some KellyBaked Ham because by the end of the ad it turns out that not even Kelly wants a KellyBaked Ham, and who can blame her.

There is much to like about this short ad. It is perfect in season of course. But it’s done with just the right sense of humor. It offers a solution and it doesn’t blame you for wanting to get something that is done.

Because that can be a good thing to remember during Christmas. You don’t have to make everything yourself, you don’t have to do anything. Just the things you want to with the people you care about. Try to remember that this season.

mcdonalds ads

McDonalds Ads are often a source of great creativity. I’ve put together a big collection of great McDonald’s Ads, when you sum them up like this it turns out that they’ve made some great ads through the years.

McDonalds are the biggest fast food chain in the world and always a source of debate on what they are doing wrong and right. We are going to leave that debate outside this post and stay focused on the great creativity on some of McDonald’s ads that we have seen around the world. Some of the ads in this collection has been featured here before, some are really old and some might not even be real. By that I mean that they might not have been used or created by McDonald’s, they still offer a great creative twist so I think they are worth seeing anyway.

Please enjoy and if you get hungry I’m sure there is a place serving burgers nearby.

Sufganiyot Collection – When Fashion Meets Cakes

Sufganiyot Collection - When Fashion Meets Cakes

The Sufganiyot Collection is a set of Jewish cakes designed and sold in Israel during Channukah. To make people know about them they let Fashion meet cakes, and the result is amazing.

I’ve discussed food and fashion here before and there have been a few cool projects that have merged the two creative industries or blurred its lines. Roladin Bakery and Café makes so-called Sufganiyot cakes for each Chanukah which they sell at the café. Well, not just one café. Roladin Bakery and Café is one of the largest chains in Israel with over 40 locations. That explains why they have the budget to pull off a project like this.

What they did was to create a seasonal range of Sufganiyots, and let fashion meet the sufganiyot cakes in stunning fashion ads.

The Sufganiyot Ads

Roladin Bakery and Café made a collection of seven different sufganiyot this season. For each variety, they styled a model to resemble the cake. One ad for each model and cake was created. As you can see the result is stunning. You can see each ad in full below, all the ads were created by M&C Saatchi.

In case you don’t know what a sufganiyah is let’s take a few words on that.

What is a Sufganiyot or Sufganiyah

Sufganiyot is the plural word for Sufganiyah. A sufganiyah is a deep-fried doughnut which is filled with jam or custard and decorated with sugar. The cakes are traditionally eaten at Chanukkah. The tradition of eating these cakes during Channukkah has become a big thing and bakeries in Israel all do their best to be the bakery of choice once its time to pick up some Sufganiyots.

With plenty of competition, the bakeries in Israel has become more creative with their sufganiyot. You can find them in all shapes and flavors, many are made with creative toppings and fillings.

From what I hear some bakeries even make great ad campaigns with models to attract the customers, how about that?

McDonald’s Turned Their Food Into Apps In These Cool Ads

McDonald’s in Switzerland recently made a print campaign for their new smartphone app. The ads turned their food into apps, check out the great result.

McDonald’s in Switzerland turned their food into apps in a recent campaign for their smartphone app. The campaign was made with TBWA and the ads look great. Let’s see them.

McDonald’s Turned Their Food Into Apps In These Cool Ads

The McDonald’s Ads

The ads came in four different versions. One for the fries, one for the Big Mac, one for the sundae and one for the Coke that you’re likely to drink with a standard McDonald’s meal.

Each of the foods got turned into squares, printed on a grey background and that was it. The style of the ads is very minimalistic, no details, no catchy phrases. Just some crumbles or drops of soda next to the square app and the message; The New McDonald’s App.

McDonald’s Turned Their Food Into Apps In These Cool Ads

What I like about the ads

I love the minimalistic style, the lack of detail is the strength here. I also like how they are using real photos of the food, not animated versions. So it actually looks like a square burger. Well done.

This is far from the first great add or marketing by McDonald’s, for more do check out my full McDonald’s coverage here.

Busch Beer Ads – Busch Should Never Change, But Some Things Should

$

Watch the very funny Busch beer ads, because Busch beer should never change, but some things should.

Some things should never change, like the crisp cold refreshment of Busch. But some things should.

That’s the whole idea behind this new series of very funny Busch Beer ads that came out recently. All the ads start out the same way. Our presenter pulls up a six-pack of Busch beer out of a stream, somewhere in the wild. I immediately want to go camping by the way.

Then he tells us how the crisp cold refreshment of Busch beer should never change, but some things should. Like Franks camp songs. Then we’ll get to hear Franks camp songs, and we agree.

What’s Good About These Busch Beer Ads

First, they are funny. Which is often a key factor in beer ads for some reason. But hey, I’m not complaining. They have a fun idea and use it in a good way. I also like the outdoor setting for the clips, it’s beer for men hanging out in the woods, hunting, fishing and listening to Franks camp songs. Nothing wrong with that I think. It is beer for men, by men and I’m guessing the wives and girlfriends are staying at home. I don’t mind that type of advertising if its done in the right way. It is here, the guys are just guys hanging out in the wild. Do it like that and it works.

This is the second round of these Busch beer ads. There was a similar campaign last year but instead of things that should change the same presenter asked people what they are known for. Equally funny. Well done Busch Beer.

You can watch Franks camp song on top and a few select clips from both campaigns below.

These Popsicle Ads Unite Heroes and Villains

The popsicle ads for Dos Pinos unites classic heroes and villains, and it looks good while doing so. Check out these illustrated print ads.

These Dos Pinos popsicle ads unite some of our most known and loved heroes and villains. The ads are for a popsicle that comes as one but with two sticks, pull it apart and share it, maybe even with someone you don’t like. Let’s take a closer look at these ads.

These Popsicle Ads Unite Heroes and Villains

The Dos Pinos Popsicle Ads

There are three ads in this campaign. Each one features just the arms of one hero and one villain per ad. That works great both for legal reasons and for the ice cream. Legal since they are not clearly ripping of any copyrighted characters (or are they?) by just showing us their arms and for the popsicle by illustrating how it gets ripped in two before enjoyed.

All three ads are illustrated in a great way, I really like both the style and the creative idea behind the ads.

These Popsicle Ads Unite Heroes and Villains

The Popsicle

I can’t claim to know much about this popsicle, it comes in chocolate flavor, at least from what I could find online. Since Dos Pinos is a company based in Costa Rica I haven’t had a chance to try it.

What bothers me a little bit is that it looks almost identical to my favorite ice cream growing up, it was called Igloo and was a similar looking ice cream with two sticks but with cola flavor instead of chocolate. From what I heard it was taken away from production because of too high production costs. I think they should have just charged more for it instead. I guess I need to plan a trip to Costa Rica instead.

For more great food ads check out my full coverage here. For more on ice cream, I’ve got plenty of that as well. Find it here.

The egg can be used for much more than just cooking, see just how in these Creative Egg Ads, they are not necessarily for eggs, but they are in there.

The egg is one of the most common things to get creative with. It’s been used since forever in cooking, for a few great egg recipes just check this out.

But the egg has gone beyond the world of food long ago. It’s beautiful shape and the simple but at the same extraordinary inside has made the egg become a designer and artist favorite thing. And that goes for ads as well.

I collected a collection of creative egg ads, these all use eggs in some form, but hardly any of them are for eggs. Enjoy them and for more great ads with food check out my full coverage here.

The Golden Arches as Art for McCafé

The golden arches of McDonald’s may be iconic, but this artist turned it even more cool by getting creative. Check out this cool art for McCafé.

I love when you take your strongest asset and turn it into something else. McDonald’s strongest thing is their iconic logo. Sometimes when you see it you hate it, there really aren’t good enough reasons to have a hamburger place in every corner of the world. Sometimes you get so happy you even surprise yourself because they can be a lifesaver. What you can’t say is that you don’t recognize it.

The Golden Arches as Art for McCafé

In this cool digital art for McCafé McDonalds and artist, Mark Gmehling created a huge digital poster for McCafé. In it, there’s a takeout cup of coffee that has some sort of cute animal collection growing out of it, or into perhaps. Those grow into a huge M for McCafé, that’s it.

The Golden Arches as Art for McCafé

It’s a great ad and at first glance, you might miss some of the details in the ad, because there are plenty of those to see. Take a few minutes to check out how cool this looks.

Once you’ve done that continue to my full food ads coverage and then keep clicking so you can check out my food art and design part as well. Because I think this one is both.

Lego Is Food, if you use your imagination like in these Lego Food Ads

Legoland in Dubai just came out with these Lego Food Ads, because your child imagination is important, just like food.

Lego is food, there have been plenty of food and lego projects and here’s a new one, this time it actually comes from Lego themselves. The ads are for Legoland in Dubai and the message is that imagination is just as important as food.

So that’s why you should bring your family to Legoland, build things and enjoy it all. The ads all feature a food where one component is lego instead of food.

Lego Is Food, if you use your imagination like in these Lego Food Ads

Do these Lego Ads make sense?

I have to say that I am quite confused by these ads. Firstly, sure having an imagination is important and playing with Lego can be a great tool for doing that. But the connection with food seems vague. Should they eat or should they play?

The second part is the food that is chosen for the ads. If imagination is as important as food and the foods we choose for our children are toast with jam, pizza and chocolate cookies, how imaginative are we?

I kind of like the ads anyway but the message is not clear enough. It would have been so much better if they would have had bigger 3D Lego sculptures of food that we want to feed our children. Like a big Lego Broccoli and a Lego Carrot.

If you want to see more food and Lego you can check out these cool Lego restaurants and don’t forget to check out my full food ads coverage.

These Creative KFC Ads Replaced Fire With Chicken

KFC in Asia created some really creative KFC Ads, in them the fire that you would normally see is replaced by spicy chicken, check them out.

I love the creative KFC Ads, the idea is one of those that is obvious once you see them and you once again curse yourself for not coming up with it first, not that it would matter. It’s not like I work for KFC. Still, it would have been nice with some bragging rights.

There are three ads in the campaign which is only in print. Three things where a fire is one of the key parts. The one you can see on top is my favorite, a drag racing car that is just speeding away on that classic strip with plenty of fire coming out of the exhaust pipe. Only it’s not fire, it’s Hot & Spicy chicken from Kentucky Fried Chicken or KFC as we usually say.

The next two ads in this very creative campaign can be seen below. One is with a space rocket that is just taking off and going on new adventures. Lastly, we’ve got some sort of action movie shot of four people standing with an explosion behind them. You could find an image like that in any semi-good action movie.

Totally love these creative KFC Ads, hopefully, you do too. This is far from the first cool thing coming from KFC who really stepped up in marketing recently, just check out these amazing fashion items.

Creative Chewing Gum Ads - You’ll Stick To These

Let’s get creative with chewing gum, or at least let’s look at some Creative Chewing Gum Ads, I promise you’ll stick to these great ads.

I’m not personally a big fan of chewing gum, the flavor disappears to fast and if I’m gonna chew it I want to eat it as well. But I’ve kept finding creative chewing gum ads for a while now.

That’s not so strange, working in a clever way with ads is the best way of getting it talked about and a sticky gum with great colors has a lot going for it when you want to make something fun. So let’s check out these ads, hopefully, they will put a smile on your face and maybe even spark a new idea or two. Let’s go!

No One Will Find Out What You Ate!

No one will find out what you ate! That’s the tag from Orbit in this series of creative chewing gum ads. I kind of like the idea and it comes with a little bit different angle on why you should use chewing gum. Not just so that your mouth stays fresh but also so you can spare people around you from that Tandoori chicken you had for lunch. Not bad at all.

White Teeth and Toothbrushes

In these sets that actually come from three different brands of chewing gum, the idea is more or less the same, in the toothbrush one it’s almost identical. I get that chewing gum brands use the dental angle on their ads, they do have a position there where most other candies or foods can’t compete. Personally, I would like a different argument to why I should use chewing gum, that aside the ads look great.

Nice chewing gum ads where the idea is to show the natural ingredients, maybe not super clever or funny but it looks kind of tasty and the digital work on these are great.

The three ads on top are my absolute favorites. I especially like the ones with the children but this last one is not bad either. One detail can make a big difference.

The McDonald’s Big Mac Can of Coca-Cola

The McDonald’s Big Mac Can of Coca-Cola

This year the Big Mac turns 50 years, to celebrate that they created a Big Mac Can of Coca-Cola, do check it out.

Check out the Big Mac Caf of Coca-Cola, a special made Big Mac-branded can of Coca-Cola, complete with two burger patties, lettuce, cheese, special sauce, onions, pickles and the classic sesame seed bun.

The can is made as a limited edition can in Brazil to celebrate 2018 as the year when the classic burger Big Mac turns 50 years old. Once you open the can you’ll find regular Coca-Cola which I guess is the most common choice of drinks at McDonald’s, personally, I tend to go for the shakes but hey, that’s just me.

I love collaborations like this and hopefully, McDonald’s will celebrate the year of the Big Mac in more ways around the world this year, I’ll keep you posted. Below you can read a very brief history of the Big Mac, enjoy!

About The Big Mac

The burger was first introduced and created by Jim Delligatti, one of McDonald’s early franchises by Ray Kroc who is often named as the McDonald’s founder. I’m sure you know that’s not really true but he was essential for the growth and success of McDonald’s, by the way why not check out the great film The Founder with Michael Keaton and Nick Offerman.

Before being called the Big Mack it was called the Aristocrat and the Blue Ribbon Burger but none of those became hits. It was first when Esther Glickstein Rose, as advertising secretary who worked at McDonald’s came up with the name Big Mac and it finally launched nationwide in 1968 that things took off. Today the Big Mac is the only burger that is sold at every McDonald’s worldwide.

So I guess there is a reason for McDonald’s to celebrate their world famous burger, and why not with the Big Mac can of Coca-Cola.

So if you’re in Brazil and looking for a burger, make sure to pick up a can of coke at the same time, if you don’t why not pick up one for me?

Kevin Hart is always fun to watch, these new short ads for MTN Dew Kickstart are no exception. So watch Kevin Hart Kickstart himself with some Mountain Dew.

Kevin Hart Kickstart himself with Mountain Dew Kickstart. What that doesn’t tell you is that while that happens we get to see what’s going on inside the head of Kevin Hart as he does his kickstarting before a show.

The three spots for MTN DEW KICKSTART with Kevin Hart are all short, 15 seconds each all made with the same idea. We’ll get to see Kevin do something weird, like a slap on the butt with a friend before a one on one game. Starting up a chopper and getting geared up like crazy or my favorite one. Getting pumped wrestling style. You’ll find all three spots in this post.

Here’s what Kevin Hart says about the collaboration and the ads:

There’s a whole lot going on in there folks, and now you finally get to see what pumps me up — spoiler, it’s me,” said Kevin. “What’s great about this MTN DEW KICKSTART partnership is that we get to have fun with it. Between bringing a fan courtside at a NBA Playoff game to filming these commercials, I’m proud of the work we’re doing and hope the fans will enjoy it, too.”

These Weight Watchers Ads Capture Exactly What’s Great About Their Method

These Weight Watchers Ads Capture Exactly What’s Great About Their Method

Check out a series of Weight Watchers ads where the brand captures exactly what’s great about their method of losing weight, and they are using not so healthy brands of food to do so, don’t miss this.

I love everything about these Weight Watchers ads, they really turned things upside down, both in the actual ads and how to think about dieting.

The Weight Watchers Method

I can’t claim to be much of a dieter myself, ask my pants if you don’t believe me. But I would consider Weight Watchers if I was to go on a diet. The reason is that they have one thing that many other diets don’t have.

You can eat or drink anything. That’s right. With Weight Watchers you count daily points based on your physique and what purpose you have with being on a diet. “Bad” food has more points and better food has fewer, some food doesn’t have points at all so you can eat as much as you like.

The clever thing about this is that you can eat whatever you like, there are no no’s. You just have to eat it moderately. And that’s the point that they managed to show in these Weight Watchers ads.

These Weight Watchers Ads Capture Exactly What’s Great About Their Method

The Weight Watchers Ads

The ads are very simple. They just say Weight Watchers, but the W’s have been replaced with a few more famous M’s that has been turned upside down.

The M’s come from three brands that you might not think of when dieting is the subject. Mars, McDonald’s and M&M’s.

The important twist and idea behind the ads come at the bottom where it says “Eat what you want”. That’s it.

A great set of ads from Weight Watchers, both creative and a good way to show why you should try them out. Even though I probably won’t.
